The legend has revived!
Michel Schönberg’s work Miss Saigon will be seen with brilliant cast again.
Only a few weeks after the premiere wich was held in 1989 the critics of the Newsweek told “This musical is already a legend.”Miss Saigon is one of the most played musicals of the world.
It was played more then ten thousand times worldwide.
In Hungary Miss Saigon premiered on the stages of the Szeged Open-air Festival,than at the Operetta Theatre directed by Gábor Miklós Kerényi.
On this occasion the copyright owner Cameron Mackintosh presented the director as the author of the best directed Miss Saigon performance.
Two musical stars will step together on the stages in the new performace.
Attila Dolhai in the role of Chris the American soldier and Pál Feke as his friend John.
Next to them the best musical actors will play in multiple cast.
The creators of the show will be the same of the 1994 performance directed by KERO again.

The exhibition Heroes, Kings, Saints at the Hungarian National Gallery presents pictures of the Hungarian history in a special grouping.
The selection of the mainly historical paintings and portraits based on Himnusz and Szózat.The art exhibition which was created by the Hungarian National Museum, National Archives of Hungary, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the National Széchenyi Library in collaboration with the Office of the National Assembly also presents objects and documents of the Hungarian statehood.
The tematic unit “By You was won a beautiful homeland…” displays the Conquest and the fateful events of the centuries, when Hungary was a major power in Europe.
In the center of the room is Munkacsy’s Conquest and in this room housed Gyula Benczúr’s award-winning composition the Baptism of Vajk.
The exhibition displays positive and tragic events of the nation’s history with paintings as  Bertalan Székely’s Zrínyi,emblematic compositions as Titus Dugovics Self-sacrifice, The Women of Eger, or Founding the Body of II.Lajos.
Separated unit describes the glory and tragedy of the Hunyadis, through representations King Matthias and Hunyadi Laszló.
Rare opportunity will be to see the Friedrich Amerling’s Széchenyi István life-size painting wich ornates the Presidential room of the Academy.
We can meet the original manuscripts of the National Anthem and  the Szózat,and the first Hungarian colored map from 1528.

In 2011 we celebrated Ernő Zórád’s centenary of birth.
He was a painter, graphic designer, illustrator, cartoonist.
On that occasion a series of events has begun with the title “Zórád 100″.
In the end of the last year has opened the artist’s lifetime achievement exhibition.
The intent of this exhibition to acquaint young people the creative work of the artist who died in 2004.
The exhibition presents Zórád’s watercolors and gouache paintings in addition to popular works as literary illustrations, slides and comics.

The  exhibition presents Liszt’s stay in Budapest from his first appearance in 1823 till 1886 when was his last concert.
Besides the events, the intent of the exhibition to present the composer’s significant role in the foundation and improvement of the institutions of the Hungarian reform-age, particularly in the Music Academy.
The exhibition would like to demonstrate the diversity of Liszt’s Hungarian identity.
Liszt’s  father in 1823 phrased the text of the poster on behalf of him saying that Liszt devotes his talent to serve the glory of his country.
This is a very important era of the  Hungarian history.
István Széchenyi’s and Miklós Wesselényi’s efforts to create the civic society is about to come true.
Széchenyi founded the Hungarian Academy of Science in 1825.
Széchenyi and Liszt met personally in 1839 and we learn from Széchenyi’s diary that he and Lajos Batthyany entertained Liszt as their guest at their homes.
They had mutual sympathy because of their way of thinking.
Liszt supported the Hungarian culture in all possible ways.
For example with charity concerts helped to establish the Hungarian National Theatre or the National Conservatory, the establishement of the Hungarian Philharmonical Society was also
initiated by Liszt.
The composer supported the male choruses the Dalárda’s  with his compositions, judgements and suggestions.
The material displayed in the middle room of the museum presents in chronological order the events of Liszt’s staying in Budapest, moreover the connections when he helped the Capitals musical life from abroad.
