It was presented first on the eve of the French Revolution in  Bordeaux by the Jean Dauberval ensemble.

Sir Frederick Ashton’s name is inseparable from the first fourty years of British ballet.
He is a defining figure of the English dance. He retired as the director of the Royal Ballet after creating dozens of masterpieces.
In his works the main roles went for the beauty, musicality, a sense of humour.
